Weekend News
Lake - I was playing and I went to my new house. I was playing with my sister and running around.
Wren - I play with Lego trucks. I watch the Magic School Bus. I got a loose tooth and one grow in the wrong place.
Colby - I play with Tia and my fishy. I play.
Willow - I celebrate both of the weekend days cause my birthday is tomorrow. And one of my cousin's birthday was on the weekend. I got presents of course. I play with my cousins and sister and I eat a doughnut.
Masai - I was going to Kid's Empire and I was having so much fun. I saw no dragon when I play on the slide. I went back home and I was building a castle. I was eating with mommy and daddy and my baby. I build something higher.
Annie - Me and Frankie play with play dough. Me and Katie watch a movie on a different tv. It was at a hotel. We eat pizza and french fries.
Renata - I write a book about I love my mommy and daddy. I paint a box. It was Luca's car seat box cause he got a new car seat cause his feet was poking out the other one.
Ellery - I celebrate my Nana's birthday. I go on bike ride with my dad. We found a bike that me and Holland can ride in the front. Big people can ride in the back.
Early this morning the Cardinals began working on drawing and then painting a winter tree. First, they drew the horizon line and then they started with the roots of the tree under the ground. They used listening skills and followed directions of making the tree with branches so impressively! Then the Cardinals practiced their tracing skills by tracing over the tree they drew with a dark marker. Next step was painting our trees. When the painted tree dries, the Cardinals add snow on the ground and falling from the sky. (One Friend said, "We can't add white to black now. It will get the snow dirty. Like the snow on a highway!"). The Cardinals are adding their own Cardinal to the tree too:)
Alicia went over the Spanish words for some of the clothing we wear. The Cardinal cheered when Alicia said we are going to play a swatter game with the big swatters! Today it was Annie's turn to squeeze la vaca!
Construction is well underway on the Cardinal house! It's looking amazing! The Cardinals measured for a door and windows and then helped to cut them out. As requested, there is a flat roof with a skylight as well as a triangle roof with a window. The house has three different types of windows - actually four if you count the skylight! The Cardinals enjoyed going in the house and looking out the windows and talking to their friends on the outside of the house. Next step in constructing the house: fastening the roof!
Tuesday
Today we celebrated Willow's 5th birthday. She brought in vanilla cupcakes which are her favorite!! Willow's mom Dani came in and read one of Willow's beloved books called Cozy by Jan Brett. Thank you Willow, for sharing your mom, sister and for sharing your special day with us! We wish you a wonderful rest of your birthday!

In Gym class with Josh, the Cardinals had so much fun with the obstacle course! It was fun to watch them run and balance. And then there was a giant cheer when Josh announced they could play with all the equipment however they wanted to! Ask your Cardinals what they like about gym class today?

Johanna was out sick today and so we took art class in our hands, literally!! In the art room, the Cardinals engaged in painting with string, fingers and eventually their whole hands!! Ask your Cardinal how did the paint feel on your hands?
